Aves- Columba livia domestica

The organisms in the Class Aves are endothermic rather than ectothermic, which is what the organisms in Class Reptile and Class Amphibia are.  The reptile scale giving way into a feather wing is the only unique characteristic of this class.  Organisms of Class Aves have a four-chambered heart.  The bill, legs, and feet have epidermal scales.  Aves have bills instead of teeth.  The modifications for flight by natural selection include hollow bones, pectoral appendages modified as wings, air sacs, large eyes and large cerebellum.  Modifications were also made so that the species could vocalize.

Examples of organisms found in the Class Aves include: birds
